We welcome all the new pupils who have joined our school this year and welcome back all of our existing pupils.

Our wish for you is that you will be very happy in Scoil Mháthair Dé and we want you all to achieve to the best of your ability and reach your full potential.

We are a diverse school community from many countries and share many cultures, languages, traditions and religions. We are all equal and we are all very happy to belong to the community that is Scoil Mháthair Dé.

We ask you to always try your best, be kind to everybody and show good example.  In Scoil Mháthair Dé we always keep our school rules and we are all proud of our school and proud of our pupils. It is very important to us that we all respect each other.

 All pupils will have the opportunity to 'dress up' on Friday before we break for Mid-term. Please do not go to any expense. We encourage children to make and create a costume for fun! Some pupils like to explore the Halloween theme while some like to dress up for fun or simply wear their


A cake sale will be held in the school hall on Wednesday October 25th in aid of Bluebox play therapy. Your support to bake and to buy would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 


School will be closed for Mid-Term Break for one full week: Monday October 30th -Friday Nov 3rd incl. Wishing all families an enjoyable week! School will re0pen at 9am on Monday November 6th.


 Following direction from the Department of Education and Skills the school will reopen after the storm on Wednesday October 18th at 9.00am for all staff and pupils. We are very lucky there was no damage done to the school during storm Ophelia!

 The Department of Education have issued a directive that all schools will remain closed again tomorrow Tuesday October 17th. Stay safe!


 Scoil Mháthair Dé will be closed tomorrow Monday October 16th. The Department of Education has informed all schools in areas that have been issued with a status RED wind alert, to close. Met Éireann has issued a status RED wind alert for our area. It would not be safe to have the school ope


Music and Drama lessons are being organised as after-school activities. Music begins on Monday September 11th and Drama begins on Wednesday 13th. Classes for Junior/ Senior Infants are 1.45-2.45 and for all other classes 2.45-3.45pm. Hope our pupils will love and enjoy every minute of exploring


Fr Ollie called to the school to announce that May 19th  2018 is the date set for Catholic pupils in Second Class to receive their First Holy Communion. A meeting will be held for parents in St. Joseph's Church on Monday 18th September at 7pm to discuss the preparation schedule.
