Welcome from the Principal
A very warm welcome to the official website of Scoil Mháthair Dé, located on the South Circular Road, Limerick City. We are a vibrant, co-educational primary school dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where every child is happy to belong. We strive daily to ensure that each pupil is given the opportunity to grow, learn, and succeed to the absolute best of their ability.
Scoil Mháthair Dé holds a distinctive place in the community, combining a proud local heritage with a modern, progressive outlook on primary education. Crucially, our Catholic ethos is deeply enriched by the many other cultures, traditions, and religious beliefs held by our families. We do not merely welcome diversity; we view it as a beautiful opportunity for dialogue, learning, and mutual enrichment.
At the heart of Scoil Mháthair Dé is our team of professional, caring, and dedicated teachers, special class teachers, SNAs and support staff. Our staff goes well beyond academic instruction to focus heavily on the holistic well-being and happiness of every individual child. To nurture these unique talents and promote a healthy lifestyle, our team proudly offers an array of extracurricular activities and school initiatives.
We are incredibly proud of our highly diverse student population, representing pupils from over 42 countries. Our classrooms are alive with a wonderful tapestry of backgrounds and languages. This rich mix creates a dynamic learning community where children develop a global perspective, building deep bridges of mutual understanding and tolerance from an early age.
We believe that a child’s educational journey is at its strongest when built on a close, active partnership between home and school. Parents and guardians are the primary educators of their children. We place immense value on your trust, open communication, and collaboration. Working hand-in-hand with our families ensures that we maintain a supportive network that helps our pupils thrive both personally and academically.
Thank you for visiting our digital home. We invite you to explore our website to stay updated on our school policies, latest news, and upcoming school activities.
Warmest regards,
Kate Lynch (Principal)
