 Congratulations to all the boys and girls who received their First Holy Communion in St. Joseph's Church last Saturday. It is a very special family day and a special occasion for our pupils in Rang 2. We wish God's continued blessings on all our pupils and their families.


Congratulations to the Green School Team and Ms Brosnan who were at an award ceremony recently in Cork to receive our 3rd Green Flag for SMD! This time the flag was awarded for all the wonderful work the school has done on the theme of 'WATER' We are so proud of all of you. Well done! 


Please inform the school office immediately if you are moving and leaving the school for the next school year 2018-19. Children are waiting for places in SMD. Thanks! 


Active School Week ASW2018 takes place all over the country next week! Children will be particularly active at school and are all asked to wear their track suit to school every day. Some of the homework next week will be active! All pupils will have a 'Wake Up Shake Up' session first thing in the hall every morning. We will have 10@10 every day as well as 'Drop Everything And Dance' which can happen at any minute during the day. Please encourage your children to be more active at home too. Let's all lead with good example, leading to a healthier lifestyle. We are a 'Health Promoting School' encouraging healthy eating and plenty of exercise!


A football blitz will be held in Mary Immaculate College (MIC) for girls in Third Classes on Wed April 11th. A soccer blitz will be held in Seanchoill, Corbally for girls in Fifth and Sixth Classes on Friday April 13th. Great opportunities and experiences for all the SMD girls to participate in these events.
