We welcome all the new pupils who have joined our school this year. Our wish for you is that you will be very happy in Scoil Mháthair Dé and we want you all to achieve to the best of your ability and reach your full potential

We are a diverse school community from many countries and share many cultures, languages, traditions and religions. We are all equal and we are all very happy to belong to the community that is Scoil Mháthair Dé.

We ask you to always try your best, be kind to everybody and show good example. Always keep our school rules. We are all proud of our school and proud of our pupils. It is very important to us that we all respect each other.

COLLECTING PUPILS

 If pupils need to be collected outside of the normal school times to attend appointments, parents must sign the pupil out in the school office first and then go to the classroom to collect the pupil. Pupils cannot be collected from the classrooms without following this procedure to adhere

SCIENCE WEEK 2017

Congratulations to all the pupils and teachers who took part in Science Week 2017! Science Week is an annual National event.  We celebrated Science Week in style in SMD. All our pupils from 3rd-6th classes visited Mary Immaculate College during Science Week with their teachers to participate

SCHOOL UNIFORM

Our school has a School Uniform Policy. Parents are requested to have the full school uniform or school tracksuit for every child. Leggings are not part of our school uniform. Thanks!

NO MOBILE PHONES!

Pupils are not permitted to have mobile phones in school. Parents are kindly asked to adhere to school policy. 

PARENT/TEACHER MEETINGS

Parent/Teacher meetings give parents the opportunity to meet with teachers to discuss pupil's progress. Meetings are taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday November 14th and 15th in classrooms.

 Sincere thanks to all the parents for your generosity in baking and buying at our recent Cake Sale!  We collected €550 for Bluebox play therapy. Your generosity is much appreciated.

FANCY DRESS

 All pupils will have the opportunity to 'dress up' on Friday before we break for Mid-term. Please do not go to any expense. We encourage children to make and create a costume for fun! Some pupils like to explore the Halloween theme while some like to dress up for fun or simply wear their

CAKE SALE

A cake sale will be held in the school hall on Wednesday October 25th in aid of Bluebox play therapy. Your support to bake and to buy would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 

MID-TERM BREAK

School will be closed for Mid-Term Break for one full week: Monday October 30th -Friday Nov 3rd incl. Wishing all families an enjoyable week! School will re0pen at 9am on Monday November 6th.

SCHOOL OPEN AGAIN!

 Following direction from the Department of Education and Skills the school will reopen after the storm on Wednesday October 18th at 9.00am for all staff and pupils. We are very lucky there was no damage done to the school during storm Ophelia!
