We welcome all the new pupils who have joined our school this year. Our wish for you is that you will be very happy in Scoil Mháthair Dé and we want you all to achieve to the best of your ability and reach your full potential

We are a diverse school community from many countries and share many cultures, languages, traditions and religions. We are all equal and we are all very happy to belong to the community that is Scoil Mháthair Dé.

We ask you to always try your best, be kind to everybody and show good example. Always keep our school rules. We are all proud of our school and proud of our pupils. It is very important to us that we all respect each other.

Applications for September 2020 are being accepted now. To register interest in a place for a pupil in SMD please download the necessary form . GOOD NEWS STORIES IN SMD

DIGITAL IN THE 21ST CENTURY

WHAT ARE THE 'GREEN TEAM' DOING?

 The Green Team are very active in SMD during 'Water Week'. They take water meter readings, they check taps, sinks and toilets for leaks and they are always informing their classes with new information. We have lots to learn about water and we are trying to reduce the amount of water we

 The children are learning about the importance of water and how we should try to use less water at home and at school by making simple changes like, turning off the tap when brushing their teeth, using a bucket instead of a hose to wash our cars. The Green School Team are very busy at

GREEN SCHOOL

ABSENT FROM SCHOOL

 When children are absent from school please phone the office to let us know. On the child's return to school it is necessary to give the teacher a note stating the reason for the child's absence. Absence of 20 days and more is reported to TUSLA, Education Welfare Services.

SCHOOL CLOSED

The school will be closed on Tuesday February 20th as the staff will be attending training in the new Primary Language Curriculum. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

MID-TERM

 The school will be closed for Mid-Term break on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th February. Wishing all families a relaxing time together. All our pupils will have time to get lots of fresh air doing lots of various activities and will have plenty time to relax and read their favourite books!

FUNDRAISING FOR A DEFIBRILLATOR

A big thank you to all the parents who supported our 'Colours Day' fundraiser to buy a defibrillator for the school community. We collected €406. This was a joint venture between the BOM and the PA. Great collaboration. Thanks to everybody!
